Q. What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
A. I’ve been a digital artist and poet/lyricist since I was a young teen. With the pandemic and my crypto savings, I’ve been able to quit my 14 year career as a marine electrician and get into the NFT art world, which led me back to music and using machine learning (AI) to turn my words into music.
Q. Tell us about your new music (Song/EP/Mixtape/Album)? And what’s the story behind it?
A. The Vyden EP (7 Tracks) was first recorded with an old buddy of mine in 2015, I’ve recently remastered the EP and it’s scheduled to release on Spotify and Apple on March 21, 2022. I am also releasing my AI generated music under the name GummyLSD (my NFT artist name), with the first single “World So Strange” going live on Spotify/Apple on February 28, 2022.
Q. What makes your music unique? How would you describe it?
A. I use AI to train mixed artists and genres datasets around original lyrics of mine. Then I’ll use AI to separate the track into stems and remaster each and add vocals and/or other instruments as needed. I primarily focus on Singer/Singwriter, Indie Folk, Dream Pop, and shoegaze.
Q. Who are your biggest music influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?
A. Sigur Ros, Damien Rice, Beach House, Pink Floyd, and Ben Howard
Q. How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?
A. I spend at least 10+ hours a day on NFT art and music. My wife is a travel RN, so atleast 9 months out of the year we’re living a nomadic lifestyle in our RV always somewhere new.
Q. Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?
A. I have a crippling social anxiety that I’m working on improving upon, so I’ve never performed live or tried to create a group to perform live. This is my first time really putting my music out into the world, so I guess this current moment would be my proudest.
Q. What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
A. Do what you love, when you can.
Q. If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
A. You can’t truly love anything, unless you’re able to love yourself.
Q. What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
A. Several AI-created tracks that need to be remastered and accompanying AI-generated Music videos under my NFT artist name GummyLSD.
