Real name is Justice, stage name Grimmz, the name comes from my original Xbox gamer tag. When I was 11 years old I thought it was hilarious to be named GrimNippz, and it stuck. Making music is just fun to me so I try making any genre beat, but vocals I only do HipHop.
Q. What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
A. Always had an act for writing, and listening to HipHop. I just enjoy the creative process of it. Currently music is just my hobby unless I somehow make money off my music lol
Q. Tell us about your new music (Song/EP/Mixtape/Album)? And what’s the story behind it?
A. My two newest tracks, “Divine”, and “Hotshot “are both reflections on my emotions, and how I feel about the current state of HipHop at the time of writing. They aren’t inherently sentimental, besides the fact its a piece of art that I made.
Q. What makes your music unique? How would you describe it? (genres/sub-genres)
A. I’d say it doesn’t follow many, if any of the mainstream song structures popular today. I also feel I use alot more word play and lyricism than other artists.
Q. Who are your biggest music influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?
A. My biggest influences in music id say are Eminem for one obviously, Token, Hopsin, Kdot, NF, and JID I would say my be my biggest along side em.
Q. How long have you been in the music industry?
A. Wouldn’t even say I’m in the industry lol I make music from home on my desktop so xD but I’ve been making music for around 6 months now.
Q. Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?
A. Currently the progress I’ve made in 6 months on rapping, and producing.
Q. How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?
A. Do it at night lol.
Q. What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
A. Just start, get FL studio, bandlabs whatever, anything of that nature. Then even if you don’t know what you are doing just start messing around with the software, and even watch youtube “how to” videos on the software if need be. Be you, and have fun with the process.
Q. If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
A. I’m not sure I even have any lol but Id tell them I cant express how happy it makes me to see someone else enjoy my music. Don’t know why, just feels good.
Q. What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
A. Not sure yet, whatever I’m feeling that day.
Q. What’s the best way fans can support you as a upcoming artist?
A. For me just following my SoundCloud and leaving likes and shares to be honest lol.
