I am LuvPlxto, A 17 year old rapper from NY. There isn’t really a specific meaning for the name but I just thought of it one day and thought “Oh that’s fire” so that’s what I been going by. My name used to be Kidd Cozmo but I stopped liking the name.
Q. What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
A. What got me into music is just the fact that it was very common in my household, specifically R&B and Rap. I always liked the way that listening to music made me feel at peace. I ended up loving listening to music so much that it made me want to try it myself.
Q. Tell us about your new music (Song/EP/Mixtape/Album)? And what’s the story behind it?
A. I recently dropped a song called “Have My Back” which is really me just questioning the fact that if I’m going through something would there be someone to help me through that, whether it would be my girl or a friend.
Q. What makes your music unique? How would you describe it? (genres/sub-genres)
A. I feel like what my music unique is the fact that I’m comfortable with being open. If I’m feeling some type of way I’ll make a song about it. I like to have fun in my songs but majority of my songs I talk about real things whether it would be my thoughts or feelings.
Q. Who are your biggest music influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?
A. I would say my biggest influencer is definitely Xxxtentation. I had other favorite artists but his music was definitely number 1. He was so talented and I was able to relate his music. I think being relatable is something I like to implement often in my music because I find music more enjoyable when you’re able to connect to what the artist is saying. I would’ve wanted a collab from him or Juice Wrld.
Q. How long have you been in the music industry?
A. I think I started music around 2017 and I started out on my phone. I used to always make beats on apps like Music Maker Jam and BandLab and eventually I started rapping around a year after making beats around 2018.
Q. Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of? (awards, projects or public performances etc.
A. I think for me personally I’m definitely proud of my album N.E. It really shows my change of mindset and has alot of meaning to it. Another achievement I’m proud of is I just recently hit over 10k on my song Have My Back.
Q. How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?
A. Music is definitely important to me but I have things that currently matter more such as school so I try to focus on that and then if I have free time then I make music. I’m in my senior year so I’m about to graduate soon.
Q. What advice would you give to aspiring musicians and you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
A. As long as you are willing to put in the work you are destined to succeed. I make music that I’d listen to and the fact that I’m able to create something that I enjoy gives me motivation to keep creating. I know that one day there will be others that enjoy my music just as much as I do. I’ve been doing music for a while and I’m just recently starting to see consistent growth in my fanbase and my musical abilities. So don’t give up.
Q. What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
A. As of right now I’ve been starting to dive more into more rage type of beats and I’ve been experimenting with that so there should be songs on the way. Also there could be a possible album drop before the end of this year so stay on the lookout.
